Full-Time Position Overview ZenTech Consulting is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician for an established steel manufacturing operation in Bedford Heights, Ohio. This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting and repair . The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial production machinery, electrical controls, motors, sensors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and other automated manufacturing systems. While electrical expertise is the primary focus, this position also requires a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The right technician will be someone who can respond to equipment issues, troubleshoot the problem systematically, identify the root cause, and make the necessary repairs safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery and equipment. Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on industrial motors, controls, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, and electrical circuits . Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase electrical systems . Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery , including sensors, inputs/outputs, control circuits, and related components. Diagnose and repair VFDs, motor starters, control panels, proximity sensors, photo eyes, limit switches, and other industrial electrical components . Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical systems including conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, and drive systems. Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies. Identify potential equipment failures and address issues before they result in significant downtime. Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and document work performed. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects. Work closely with production personnel to diagnose recurring equipment problems and improve machine reliability. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area. Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, electrical safety, and PPE requirements . Required Qualifications 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, steel, metal processing, or heavy industrial environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience. Experience with 480V 3-phase electrical systems . Experience troubleshooting industrial motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation. Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to use electrical test equipment, meters, and other diagnostic tools. Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout and industrial safety practices. Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns. Preferred Qualifications Experience in steel processing, metal manufacturing, coil processing, or heavy industrial manufacturing . Industrial electrical or maintenance-related technical training. PLC troubleshooting experience. VFD troubleshooting or programming experience. Experience working with conveyors, cranes, hoists, and heavy production equipment. Basic welding or fabrication skills. CMMS experience. OSHA or other industrial safety training. What We're Looking For ZenTech is looking for a true industrial maintenance professional who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment at the component level. The ideal candidate should be able to take an electrical schematic, use a meter, trace a problem through a control circuit, troubleshoot sensors or VFDs, and determine why a machine isn't operating correctly. Electrical troubleshooting experience is especially important for this position. Candidates with a combination of strong electrical skills and industrial mechanical maintenance experience will be highly valued. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work around industrial machinery for extended periods. Ability to lift and handle maintenance tools and equipment. Pay:
$26.62 - $32.06 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
