Job Description
Technician II - Electrical OnSite Partners, LLC is seeking a motivated Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energy systems. This role works under the supervision of a Foreman and is responsible for routine tasks and supports senior technicians and foremen on complex projects, including wind turbines, reciprocating engines, solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays, substations, fuel cells, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other emerging technologies at transmission and distribution grades. The position involves work across multiple voltage classes, including low-voltage control systems and medium-voltage distribution equipment, and requires strong adherence to safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of electrical equipment and energy systems.
- Work on systems across varying AC and DC voltage classes, including:
- Low voltage (control wiring, 24V-600V)
- Medium voltage distribution systems
- High voltage equipment (under supervision and qualification)
- Pull wire, install conduit, cable tray, grounding, and bonding systems
- Terminate conductors for power, control, and instrumentation circuits
- Support system commissioning and startup activities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on energized and de-energized systems
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in power and control systems
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
- Use diagnostic tools including multimeters, insulation testers (megger), and clamp meters
- Assist with breaker testing, relay checks, and motor diagnostics
- Identify root causes of recurring electrical issues
- Lead lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc-flash procedures
- Lead safe energization and de-energization of equipment
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation
- Maintain compliance with
NEC, NFPA
70E, OSHA, and company safety standards- Support inspections and audits
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Travel to project sites as required (<25% travel expected)
- System Operator on-call duties
- Complete service records for work completed
- Lead routine work independent of a Foreman.
