Job Summary:
AREA VII ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
4 Year Inside Electrical Program This program is designed to give students the experience and training necessary to become licensed electricians. It is a combination of classroom instruction and supervised work experience with approved training agents. Starting wage of 1st period Apprentice is $21.90 per hour at 1-1-25 OPENING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age to apply and at least 18 years of age to begin working as an apprentice. Applicants must have one of the following: High School Diploma with at least a 2.0 GPA GED Certificate (600 score for 2014 or newer, 2300 score between 2002 and 2014, or 230 score for 2001 or older.) Applicants must have completed one full year of high school algebra with a passing grade of 'C' or better, in Algebra 1 or an equivalent, OR a college placement exam with a minimum level of Algebra
II. NOTE
A current valid driver's license may be required for employment.

Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook Counties.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Electricians perform work both indoors and out in a variety of weather conditions. The work involves standing, bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling, reaching, cramped spaces and heights ranging up to 70+ feet.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Inside electricians can complete work on residential, commercial, and industrial job sites. This includes new electrical installations, installing conduit, wiring lighting, switches, converters, and complex computerized systems, maintaining, and repairing large motors, inspecting circuit breakers and transformers. This ranges from single-family homes to large state-of-the-art industrial operations.
