Job Description

Description:
INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN
Keep the Power On. Keep the Plant Moving. Keep Downtime Down. At York Building Products, we build more than materials—we build careers. We're looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician who knows their way around electrical systems, enjoys solving problems, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. If a machine goes down, you're the one who gets it back up and running.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical & electromechanical systems. Keep mining, asphalt, and concrete masonry equipment running safely and efficiently. Diagnose electrical problems and get to the root cause—not just the quick fix. Read and work from electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Troubleshoot motor controls, relay logic, PLCs, and control systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize costly downtime. Work with equipment operators and maintenance teams to identify and solve problems. Safely operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other mobile equipment as needed. Keep accurate records of repairs, materials, and maintenance work. Follow LOTO procedures and all YBP safety policies— because getting the job done safely comes first. Help identify and correct unsafe conditions. Be ready to work indoors, outdoors, and wherever the job takes you.
WHAT YOU BRING 3-5
years of industrial electrical experience preferred. Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Solid understanding of electrical and electromechanical systems. Experience with motor controls and relay logic. Basic PLC knowledge and the ability to use PLC logic for troubleshooting. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Knowledge of electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Comfortable using electrical testing equipment and hand tools. A problem-solving mindset and a "figure it out" attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance calls when needed.
THIS JOB ISN'T FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO SIT AT A DESK
You'll work in real plant environments— heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, heights, confined spaces, and everything in between.
You must be able to:
Work from ladders and aerial lifts. Work safely at heights and in confined spaces. Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Lift up to 90 lbs.
ONE DAY YOU'RE HERE. THE NEXT DAY YOU MAY BE THERE.
You may be required to travel between YBP facilities to support electrical and maintenance needs. WHY YBP? For more than 90 years, York Building Products has been building a reputation for quality—and we've done it with good people who know how to get the job done. If you're an electrician who likes troubleshooting, fixing things, working with your hands, and keeping heavy equipment moving , we'd like to hear from you. Bring your skills. Bring your work ethic. We'll bring the challenge.
