Job Description
ENTREPRENEURIAL CONSTRUCTION LEAD
Are you the person people call when they need a project figured out and done right? We're building a small, growing construction and property services company, and we're looking for a highly capable, experienced professional who wants more than a narrowly defined position. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the work. Someone who can look at a project, understand what needs to happen, determine the best approach, and make it happen. You don't need to know everything, but you should be the kind of person who can figure things out.THE ROLE
This is a varied, hands-on position covering construction, excavation, property services, equipment operation, maintenance, and general project work. Depending on the project, you may be:- Operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers and other equipment
- Clearing and preparing sites
- Building driveways, roads and drainage systems
- Performing excavation and grading
- Setting forms and completing concrete work
- Framing and general carpentry
- Building decks and other structures
- Handling siding, doors, windows and exterior repairs
- Performing painting and finish work
- Maintaining and repairing equipment
- Plowing and managing snow operations
- Troubleshooting problems that arise in the field The work will change from project to project.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN DO MORE
We're interested in someone with a broad skill set and strong practical judgment. You should have experience in several of the following:- Construction
- Excavation
- Heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair
- Property maintenance
- Site development
- Carpentry
- Concrete
- General building and repair More importantly, you should be comfortable learning, adapting and taking on unfamiliar problems. We're looking for someone who:
- Works independently
- Thinks ahead
- Solves problems rather than passing them along
- Takes pride in quality work
- Communicates well
- Takes responsibility for results
- Can manage priorities in the field
- Can work directly with customers when needed
- Can step into a leadership role when the situation calls for it If you need every task defined for you, this probably isn't the right position.
