Are you the person people call when they need a project figured out and done right? We're building a small, growing construction and property services company, and we're looking for a highly capable, experienced professional who wants more than a narrowly defined position. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the work. Someone who can look at a project, understand what needs to happen, determine the best approach, and make it happen. You don't need to know everything, but you should be the kind of person who can figure things out.
THE ROLE
This is a varied, hands-on position covering construction, excavation, property services, equipment operation, maintenance, and general project work. Depending on the project, you may be:
Operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers and other equipment
Clearing and preparing sites
Building driveways, roads and drainage systems
Performing excavation and grading
Setting forms and completing concrete work
Framing and general carpentry
Building decks and other structures
Handling siding, doors, windows and exterior repairs
Performing painting and finish work
Maintaining and repairing equipment
Plowing and managing snow operations
Troubleshooting problems that arise in the field The work will change from project to project.
That's part of the appeal.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN DO MORE
We're interested in someone with a broad skill set and strong practical judgment. You should have experience in several of the following:
Construction
Excavation
Heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair
Property maintenance
Site development
Carpentry
Concrete
General building and repair More importantly, you should be comfortable learning, adapting and taking on unfamiliar problems. We're looking for someone who:
Works independently
Thinks ahead
Solves problems rather than passing them along
Takes pride in quality work
Communicates well
Takes responsibility for results
Can manage priorities in the field
Can work directly with customers when needed
Can step into a leadership role when the situation calls for it If you need every task defined for you, this probably isn't the right position.
If you enjoy being given a problem and figuring out how to solve it, we should talk.
THIS CAN BECOME MORE THAN A JOB
We're intentionally building a small company where capable people can have a meaningful role in how the business operates. The right person will have the opportunity to:
Take ownership of projects
Work directly with customers
Make decisions in the field
Help determine how projects are approached and executed
Take on increasing responsibility
Help develop systems and processes
Grow into an operational leadership role
Participate in building the company itself We're especially interested in someone who has considered starting their own construction, excavation, property services or general contracting business.
Maybe you have the experience and ability but don't want to take on the risk and overhead of starting completely from scratch. Maybe you've reached the point in your career where you'd rather help build something than simply work for someone else's operation. This could be an opportunity to do exactly that.
WHAT WE EXPECT
We expect professionalism, reliability and accountability.
Show up prepared.
Take care of the equipment.
Do quality work.
Think ahead.
Communicate.
Solve problems.
Treat customers and coworkers with respect.
If something goes wrong, take responsibility and fix it. If you see something that needs to be done, take ownership of it.
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive compensation based on experience and capability
Quality equipment and tools
Variety of projects and responsibilities
Independence without unnecessary micromanagement
Direct involvement in the growth of the company
Opportunity for increasing responsibility
Potential to develop into a key operational leadership position
Compensation that can grow as your responsibilities and contribution grow We care more about what you can actually do than what your job title says.
THE BOTTOM LINE
We're not looking for someone to simply fill a position. We're looking for a capable, versatile professional who can take ownership of projects, solve problems and help build an organization. If you have experience across construction and excavation, know how to operate equipment, can build and repair things, think independently and want an opportunity to grow with a company, we'd like to meet you. Tell us about your experience, the equipment you've operated, the types of projects you've completed, and what you're capable of taking ownership of.
