Nonexempt, Hourly Summary:
TANN Corporation is hiring a hands-on Field Service Technician to support equipment assembly, installation, and service of industrial air pollution control systems. This role combines shop work and travel-based field service, requiring strong electrical and mechanical skills and a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities:
Assemble and wire control panels and equipment (UL508A standards) Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, and instrumentation setup Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial systems (electrical & mechanical) Commission and service equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs Conduct vibration analysis, fan balancing, and thermal imaging Provide on-site customer support, training, and technical reporting Complete service documentation and support 24/7 service hotline as needed Assist with installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance
Qualifications:
Electrical/mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting experience Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial systems preferred Ability to work independently and travel domestically (some international) Strong communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
Experience with combustion systems, oxidizers, or industrial dryers Familiarity with
NEC/NFPA
codes, OSHA certification Experience with instrumentation (pressure, temperature, gas analysis)
