This is not an entry-level position and is not primarily commercial or industrial work. We are specifically looking for an electrician with extensive hands-on residential experience who can confidently take a custom home from rough-in through final trim . Our ideal candidate can read plans, lay out a project, troubleshoot independently, lead helpers and apprentices, communicate professionally with builders and homeowners, and take pride in exceptional craftsmanship. If you are an experienced residential electrician who enjoys challenging projects and wants to work on some of Charleston's finest custom homes, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Lead electrical installations on high-end custom homes from rough-in through final trim Read and work from electrical plans, lighting plans, specifications, and job proposals Lay out residential electrical systems and direct helpers and apprentices Install and troubleshoot panels, lighting systems, devices, dimming controls, and residential electrical equipment Perform residential service, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades Coordinate daily work with project managers, builders and other trades Identify scope changes and accurately document additional work and material usage Maintain an organized company vehicle, materials, and jobsite Represent Carolina Custom Electric professionally with builders and homeowners Deliver clean, code-compliant work that meets CCE's standards for craftsmanship Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum 4 years of recent, hands-on residential electrical experience Demonstrated experience with residential rough-in, trim-out and troubleshooting Ability to independently read residential electrical and lighting plans Ability to lay out and execute residential electrical installations without constant supervision Experience leading helpers or apprentices on the job Strong working knowledge of the NEC and residential electrical practices Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Professional communication skills with builders, homeowners and coworkers Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and normal residential construction environments Highly Preferred Custom or luxury residential electrical experience South Carolina Journeyman Electrician credential Generator installation experience Experience with advanced lighting controls, dimming systems and smart-home products Strong residential service and diagnostic experience Why Carolina Custom Electric?
