Overview:
Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Industrial In-House Electrician to support electrical maintenance and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing electrical systems and equipment to help keep production running safely and efficiently.
Job Duties:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment. Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance on production machinery. Troubleshoot electrical circuits, controls, motors, sensors, and related components. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Perform electrical installations, modifications, and equipment upgrades as needed. Utilize electrical test equipment to diagnose and resolve issues. Respond to production equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable electrical safety requirements. Work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment issues. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and repairs. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and electrical systems.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an industrial electrician/electrician. Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience with motors, controls, sensors, and industrial equipment. Knowledge of electrical safety practices and LOTO procedures. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work a consistent 2nd-shift schedule. High school diploma/GED or equivalent technical experience preferred. Industrial electrical certification or formal electrical training is a plus.
