Join our team as a Substation Electrician and play a key role in installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting high- and medium-voltage electrical systems that keep communities and businesses powered. 🔧 What You'll Do Install, maintain, and repair substation equipment and electrical systems up to 35kV . Troubleshoot transformers, relays, motors, generators, and control systems. Perform electrical testing using meters, meggers, and diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical drawings. Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO , grounding, switching, and PPE requirements. Support outages, emergency response, and service restoration activities. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience as a licensed electrician. Experience with medium- or high-voltage electrical systems. Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical equipment. Skilled with electrical testing tools and hand tools. Strong commitment to safety. Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb, and work in physically demanding environments. Preferred Substation, utility, or industrial electrical experience. Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, relays, and power distribution systems. Military electrical experience or commissioning experience. Why Join Us? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brownsville, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
