Job Description

PURPOSE:
Perform general maintenance, including preventative and predictive maintenance on printing, bagging, extrusion, auxiliary, and plant support equipment.
SHIFT:
Sunday-Tuesday and every other Saturday, 6pm-6am training on days for three weeks
JOB DUTIES
Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers, leads, and managers. Properly uses all personal protective equipment and follows all LOTO procedures. Knowledge and ability to repair plastics production equipment, based on the following technical skills: Must be capable of performing maintenance on plastics production equipment with a high degree of skill and competency. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits. Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a high degree of competency. Must be capable of servicing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Performs repairs, changes, or upgrades the status of equipment (i.e., installation of 3 Phase motors, servo motors, VFD's, install relays and starters, install control circuits, pumps, compressors and others. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all production equipment. Follow up with production personnel to ensure quality repairs are being performed on the production equipment. Execute the Preventive / Predictive maintenance plan to achieve optimal operational reliability. Ensure that the Maintenance Manager is kept well informed of all equipment and manufacturing problems and that a well-executed plan is established to correct these problems. Exhibit good communication skills with production and maintenance team members. Work in a collaborative team environment and conduct yourself in a professional manner. 3 years of manufacturing experience in a related field. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods on hard surfaces, climb 60 feet or higher, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Ability to make priority decisions and exercise independent judgment based on the situation. Ability to troubleshoot and repair low-voltage 12V DC through high-voltage 480V AC 3-phase electrical systems. Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude. Supply own tools sufficient for maintenance tasks, including basic electrical test tools, industrial hand tools, air and hand tools as well as a toolbox adequate to secure the employee's investment. Proven knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedures to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, complete repairs, minimize downtime, and optimize product quality. Strong mathematical ability. Accurately recognize, understand, and enter numbers and values into an online database. Efficiently use computers, CMMS, and related software to maintain records, manage work orders, support troubleshooting, and track equipment history to improve reliability and communication.
