A Better Place to Do Your Best Work. We are growing our team of experienced, licensed Journeyman Electricians for long-term commercial construction projects throughout Greater Houston. Our electricians work on high-profile, technically demanding facilities, including airports, hospitals, labs, universities, government buildings, water and wastewater facilities, and other critical infrastructure where safety, quality, planning, and reliable execution matters. We plan the work, coordinate with other trades, provide the necessary resources, and expect everyone to treat one another professionally. What You Will Do Install commercial electrical systems in accordance with plans, specifications, the NEC, and project requirements Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, schedules, and installation details Perform layout and install conduit, raceways, supports, feeders, branch circuits, panels, transformers, switchgear, lighting, controls, and related electrical systems Complete wire pulls, equipment connections, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting Work safely and productively in active facilities where operations cannot be disrupted Coordinate with foremen, project leadership, general contractors, and other trades Identify installation conflicts and communicate material, access, or coordination needs before they affect the work Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, productivity, housekeeping, and safety Help train and mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians Required Qualifications Current Texas TDLR Journeyman Electrician license Strong commercial electrical construction experience Ability to read plans and independently perform commercial electrical installations Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code OSHA 10 certification Reliable transportation to project sites throughout Greater Houston Ability to satisfy applicable pre-employment drug-screening, background-check, and project badging requirements Commitment to safe work, quality craftsmanship, teamwork, and professional conduct Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of commercial construction experience Experience with hospitals, airports, laboratories, universities, water or wastewater facilities, government buildings, or other complex commercial projects Experience working in occupied or continuously operating facilities Strong layout, conduit-bending, feeder, equipment-termination, and troubleshooting skills Experience leading small crews or mentoring apprentices OSHA 30 certification About Emerald Standard Emerald Standard is a Houston-area electrical contractor and engineering company that builds reliable electrical infrastructure for some of the region's most complex and unique projects.
