Job Overview:
As an Electrician at Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a variety of industrial and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety procedures, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure efficient and reliable electrical operations.Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the appropriate layout of electrical systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure project completion.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced electricians.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Completion of an approved electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license in Texas or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician, preferably in industrial or commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Proficient in using a variety of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and at heights.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
