Job Description

Electrical Service Technician Boyd Property Group LLC Full-Time | $32-$40/hour + Performance Incentives Boyd Property Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Technician with strong residential construction experience and well-rounded mechanical and electrical knowledge. We are looking for a technician who can independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete residential repairs and installations while providing professional service to homeowners and property-management clients. Compensation & Incentives $32.00-$40.00 per hour , based on experience, technical ability, licensing, and demonstrated field knowledge. Licensed electricians and candidates who are currently eligible to obtain applicable electrical licensure may qualify for additional compensation or licensing bonuses.

Performance and productivity incentives Project completion bonuses Estimating and sales incentives for approved additional work Overtime opportunities based on workload Licensing and certification incentives Advancement into Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, Estimator, or Project Management positions Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential electrical and mechanical systems. Perform residential electrical service, repair, replacement, and installation work. Diagnose circuits, breakers, receptacles, switches, lighting, GFCI/AFCI devices, panels, and related electrical components. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify appropriate corrective repairs. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance. Use electrical meters, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools to accurately diagnose problems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications, and manufacturer documentation. Identify unsafe conditions, code deficiencies, and additional repairs that should be brought to the customer's attention. Understand the interaction between electrical, HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and other residential building systems. Determine appropriate materials and repair methods before beginning work. Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, project managers, and other trades. Accurately document completed work, materials used, photographs, deficiencies, and recommended repairs. Follow applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standards. Qualifications Residential construction, residential service, or property-maintenance experience is required.
Competitive candidates should possess:
Strong working knowledge of residential electrical systems Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Practical knowledge of residential construction and building systems Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems rather than simply replace components Experience using electrical meters and diagnostic equipment Understanding of electrical panels, circuits, breakers, GFCI/AFCI protection, lighting, devices, and residential wiring Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions Strong customer-service and communication skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Virginia electrical licensure is highly valued. Candidates who currently hold a Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or who possess the documented experience and qualifications necessary to become licensed, are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation and/or bonuses may apply based on licensure and qualifications. The Technician We're Looking For This is not simply an electrical installer position . We're looking for someone who understands how residential systems work together and can walk into a property, evaluate a problem, determine the root cause, develop an appropriate repair plan, and complete the work correctly. The strongest candidate will combine residential construction experience, electrical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and customer-service skills .
