Service Supervisor The Opportunity Kodiak is seeking an experienced, safety-focused Electrician to support commercial and industrial electrical service work in Norfolk, VA . In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, controls, and related equipment while providing dependable service to customers. This position is a strong fit for an electrician who is comfortable working independently, diagnosing electrical issues, and maintaining high standards for safety and workmanship. Diagnose electrical and control system issues and determine appropriate repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and service work on electrical equipment and components. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Install and service wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, controls, and related electrical components. Test electrical systems using appropriate meters, diagnostic equipment, and testing procedures. Identify potential safety hazards and complete work in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company safety standards. Communicate clearly with customers regarding system conditions, repairs, and recommended solutions. Document completed work, materials used, and service activities accurately. Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working condition. Work independently while coordinating with supervisors, customers, and other team members as needed. Qualifications Previous experience performing commercial or industrial electrical work. Valid electrical license or applicable journeyman-level credentials preferred. Strong troubleshooting and electrical diagnostic skills. Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Working knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and industry best practices. Ability to work independently and manage service-related responsibilities effectively. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to safely use electrical tools, testing equipment, ladders, and other jobsite equipment. Work Schedule This is a full-time position supporting commercial and industrial service operations. Work schedules may vary based on customer needs, project requirements, and service calls. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials associated with electrical work. Work from ladders, lifts, and elevated areas when required. Bend, kneel, climb, reach, and stand for extended periods. Work safely in commercial, industrial, mechanical, and electrical environments.
