ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE
The Marine Electrician J1 is responsible for accomplishing work in accordance with work specifications safely, with the highest quality and in a professional manner. Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the jobPOSITION DEMANDS
(Education/Training/Experience) Must be able to use basic tools and test equipment. Must have basic knowledge of ship's compartmental layout. Enroll and pass all pre-approved classes on electrical theory, blue print reading and electrical fundamentals. Must be able to follow directions from a supervisor. Be able to install temporary services using correct wire and breaker sizes; complete work under direction of supervisor.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to pass a Standard Jaeger's Test chart for near vision acuity reading J1 letters or equivalent with or without corrective aids and pass a color vision test using Ishihara's Tests for Color Deficiency. Must be able to climb on and around ships and walk to other yard areas and requires extended periods of standing and walking (75%). Inspections and work may require climbing ladders, working at heights, walking on scaffolding and observing co-workers using tools and equipment. Lifting/carrying tools and parts weighing up to 50 lbs. on frequent basis. Standing, bending, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, crouching, kneeling, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, eye/hand/foot coordination, seeing, hearing required. Selecting appropriate tools for jobs, as per trade classification. Works in tight, confined work spaces on board ship and is exposed to varied temperatures, wind, wet and humid conditions, fumes, odors and dust, vibrations from ship and hand toolsJob Type:
