ABOUT THE ROLE

Provident Electric is hiring an experienced 02 Journeyman Electrician to run our residential service work. This is not an entry-level seat and it is not a helper job. We are looking for the electrician other electricians call when they get stuck — someone who can be handed a service address in the morning, walk in cold, diagnose it, price it, sell it, install it, and leave a customer who asks for you by name the next time something goes wrong. If you have spent years building that skill set and you are tired of being paid like you haven't, this is the seat.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Service panel replacements and upgrades — load calculations, utility coordination, cutover, and final walkthrough start to finish Circuit additions and rewires — kitchens, baths, garages, EV chargers, hot tubs, generators, dedicated equipment circuits Whole-home surge protection — install it and explain the value to the homeowner Troubleshooting — open neutrals, nuisance trips, aluminum branch wiring, failed devices, and older panels that need a real diagnosis, not a guess Lighting, device, fan, and fixture installations Walking the home, building the options, and presenting good / better / best pricing to the homeowner in plain english

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Current Washington 02 Residential Specialty Journeyman certificate (or 01 General Journeyman) in good standing Proven residential service experience — panel changes, circuit adds, surge protection, troubleshooting, and installs performed independently Able to take a job start to finish without a supervisor on site Valid driver's license and a record clean enough to drive a company vehicle Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and older homes Strongly Preferred Customer service and in-home sales experience — you can build trust at the door, explain the "why" behind the price, and close the ticket without pressure tactics A track record of good reviews, referrals, and repeat requests Experience presenting options and generating add-on work The honest version: we need someone well-rounded enough that when we dispatch you, we know the job comes back done and the customer comes back happy. Technical skill alone won't cut it here, and neither will a good personality with weak hands. We need both.
