An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

The 06 Journeyman Electrician is capable of independently performing core installation tasks for fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other low voltage specialty systems. This role is responsible for completing standard installation jobs, without direct supervision, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company quality expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other low voltage specialty systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting. Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies. Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed. Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed. Maintain a clean and organized job site. Travel to job sites as required. Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician. Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard installation jobs. Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes. 06 specialty journeyman electrician - licensed professional with low-voltage, power-limited systems in telecommunications, data, security, and fire alarms. NICET Level I or above preferred. Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving is required).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Compensation:
$30 - $45 hourly based on experience
