Job Description

Position summary: The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within Granite Valley Forest Products. Pulling cable, running pathway, running conduit, terminations of cables, testing of cables, and installation of equipment and hardware in a manufacturing setting.
Essential functions:
The duties identified below are the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Conduct activities in a safe manner, follow corporate safety guidelines and requirements, use personal protective equipment and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed. Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance, inspection ready at all times Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams Using various devices including various meters and hand and power tools Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes Troubleshoot electrical problems and make repairs accordingly Ability to perform electrical tests, read results, and diagnose and repair electrical problems Work with closely with other Maintenance staff Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records. Other assignments as made by management
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required.

Contain ability to build rapport and good working relationship with co-workers Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician card Proficient with National Electrical Code and relevant regulations Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems and performing repairs or replacements as needed Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and listening) Strong understanding of wiring, circuits and other electrical components Problem-solving and critical thinking skills Effective time management skills Strong work ethic
