An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Requirements High School Diploma or GED Proficient in all diagnostic testing, analysis of test results on equipment, apparatus and wiring. Must have a safe driving record. Must have a current CDL; or able to obtain a Commercial driver's license within first six months on the job. Successfully completed a Journeyman Wireman apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Physical exam will be required. Preferences Journeyman Station Wireman experience or apprenticeship preferred.
