In this energetic role, you will leverage your construction industry expertise to accurately assess project needs, develop detailed estimates, and collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure seamless project execution. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will drive successful bids and foster long-term client relationships, all while contributing to the growth of our company in the competitive commercial construction landscape. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project requirements accurately. Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial flooring projects, including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Utilize estimating software such as StackCT, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop precise bids. Manage material take-offs by estimating quantities from blueprints and ensuring accurate pricing for all flooring materials. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Oversee the estimation process from initial scope review through final bid submission, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines. Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets; implement cost control measures when necessary. Review construction contracts and manage project documentation using construction management software and spreadsheets. Communicate clearly with clients regarding scope, pricing, and project expectations while managing multiple bids simultaneously. Support project managers during the bidding process by providing detailed estimates that reflect current market conditions and material costs. Experience Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, StackCT, and other construction estimating tools. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans for accurate estimation. Demonstrated ability to estimate material requirements from blueprints and develop detailed spreadsheets for cost analysis.
