In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate project bids, cost control, and effective communication with clients and contractors. Your deep understanding of the marine industry, combined with your proficiency in estimating software and blueprint interpretation, will drive the success of our projects from conception to completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale marine infrastructure developments while working in a collaborative and innovative environment. Duties Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to marine projects Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for marine construction projects, including material requirements, labor costs, equipment, and subcontractor quotes Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate bids and proposals Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and adjusting estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms Conduct site visits to assess project scope, verify material quantities, and review construction progress for accurate estimation updates Review contracts and construction management software to ensure alignment with project scope and cost control measures Requirements Proven experience managing estimates for commercial marine construction projects or similar heavy civil infrastructure work Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately Solid understanding of construction industry practices, including cost management, material estimating, and project budgeting Experience with negotiation strategies to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction site operations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for data analysis and documentation purposes Construction industry experience emphasizing estimation for large-scale marine or commercial projects is highly preferred Join us if you're passionate about delivering precise estimates that keep projects on track!
