Responsibilities Lead the development of detailed construction estimates for commercial projects by interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and other construction management tools to prepare comprehensive cost analyses. Conduct thorough review of construction drawings and blueprints to accurately determine material requirements and labor costs. Manage project budgets by estimating material costs, labor hours, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive yet profitable bids. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards. Oversee cost control throughout the project lifecycle by tracking expenses against estimates and adjusting forecasts as needed. Collaborate with project management teams to interpret contracts, scope changes, and technical documents ensuring alignment with project goals. Prepare detailed spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Office tools to communicate estimates clearly to stakeholders. Review construction site conditions and assess potential risks that could impact cost or schedule. Lead efforts in client communication during the bidding process, providing transparent explanations of estimates and responding to inquiries professionally.

Qualifications Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction estimating tools. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Demonstrated expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets. Experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize costs without compromising quality. Construction site experience coupled with a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and safety standards. Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
