Job Description

The Opportunity At Veteran Singleply, we've built our business on principles that have mattered from day one: quality, integrity, commitment, and honor. As a service-disabled veteran-founded commercial roofing company, those values have shaped how we work, how we serve our customers, and the reputation we've earned along the way. Since 2009, we've completed thousands of projects and built a business grounded in strong relationships, reliable execution, and work we're proud to stand behind. That strong foundation has opened the door to an exciting new chapter. We're now a MICA Commercial Roofing company, joining a growing platform of businesses built to last. This next chapter allows us to build on what has made Veterans Singleply successful while gaining greater resources and opportunities to expand our capabilities, strengthen our business, and accelerate our growth. For the people who join us, it means becoming part of a company with a proven foundation and an exciting future ahead. We're proud of where we've been, clear about what we stand for, and looking for great people to help us build what's next. Your Impact As an Estimator, you'll help us turn opportunities into profitable, executable work. You'll evaluate project requirements, develop accurate estimates, and help our teams make informed decisions about the work we pursue. From commercial projects to reroofing and service-related opportunities, you'll partner with key team members and leadership to ensure our bids reflect the true scope of the work. Performance Outcomes Produce accurate, complete, and competitive estimates within established timelines. Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and site conditions to determine scope, requirements, risks, and exclusions. Perform detailed takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and project costs. Estimate across a range of commercial roofing systems and project types. Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Prepare clear proposals and bid packages. Estimate work in alignment with gross-margin and profitability expectations. Maintain an organized pipeline of bids and deadlines. Support informed bid/no-bid decisions. Provide complete handoffs for awarded projects. Use project performance and bid results to continuously improve estimating accuracy. What It Takes to Create Value Here You're competitive, analytical, and disciplined. You take pride in getting the details right and understand that what happens during estimating directly affects what happens in the field. You don't simply plug numbers into a system. You understand roofing, recognize potential scope gaps and risks, ask good questions, and know when something needs a closer look. You can move quickly without sacrificing accuracy and take ownership from the moment an opportunity reaches your desk through the handoff when we win. Relevant Experience & Qualifications 7+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience. Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems Demonstrated experience reviewing drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes. Proven ability to perform detailed takeoffs and develop complete project cost estimates. Strong understanding of roofing means and methods, labor productivity, material costs, and project risk. Experience preparing competitive bids, proposals, scope summaries, and handoff documentation. Proficiency with commercial roofing estimating/digital takeoff software such as The EDGE, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar. Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines. Valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings. What We Offer Competitive market-based compensation Comprehensive health benefits Tools and technology needed to perform your best work Opportunity to help grow an established company as we enter our next chapter
