Construction Sales & Estimating

ESB Design+Build is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sales & Estimating professional to support and lead the pre-construction phase of commercial projects across Arizona. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, developing accurate project pricing, and thinking critically about how work is won and delivered. About the Role You will play a key role in estimating, proposal development, and business development efforts—helping bring projects from concept to contract while continuously improving processes and performance. You will also play an important role in leveraging and improving AI tools to enhance estimating accuracy, streamline workflows, and support overall team performance. What You'll Do Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects Analyze drawings, specifications, and documentation to develop competitive bids Maintain and update master pricing databases to ensure current and accurate cost data Understand and evaluate key cost drivers including labor, materials, and project conditions Continuously improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and internal processes Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing Develop professional proposals and client presentations Track and manage multiple bids, deadlines, and sales metrics/performance numbers Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handoff upon award Leverage and help manage AI tools to improve estimating accuracy, streamline workflows, and ensure high-quality outputs Apply critical thinking to evaluate pricing strategies, project approaches, and workflows Contribute ideas on how and why processes are done, including communication and outreach strategies Attend and participate in weekly or biweekly sales and strategy meetings Represent the company at community and client events to build relationships and generate new opportunities Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, sales, or pre-construction in construction Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and pricing structures Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data tracking tools Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Outgoing and relationship-driven, with confidence in in-person networking and client interactions Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with a mindset focused on continuous improvement Critical thinker who seeks to understand not just what to do, but why it's done Interest in or experience with AI tools and technology is a plus Work Schedule Monday to Friday Typical 8-hour workday (with flexibility depending on workload) Occasional travel for site visits, meetings, and networking events Why Join ESB Design+Build?
