Senior Construction Estimator - Residential & Design-Build Premier Design Build Remodel | Phoenix Metro Area, Arizona Full-Time | $80,000-$95,000 base, DOE, with strong upside potential Premier Design Build Remodel is seeking an experienced, construction-minded , Senior Construction Estimator, to take ownership of estimating accuracy, scope completeness, cost control, and project gross-margin performance. This is not a data-entry estimating role. We are looking for a highly capable estimator with strong experience in custom residential construction, ground-up construction, major room additions, ADUs, casitas, detached structures, structural modifications, high-end remodeling, and design-build construction. The right candidate understands how buildings actually come together, recognizes missing scope before it becomes a problem, communicates effectively across departments, protects margin, and continuously improves estimating systems and processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed residential construction estimates from design development through final pricing
  • Review plans, specifications, selections, field conditions, and project requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis
  • Estimate labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, allowances, contingencies, and specialty items
  • Verify product selections, quantities, specifications, and scope completeness
  • Identify missing information, scope gaps, risk, and constructability concerns
  • Conduct site visits when necessary to evaluate field conditions and project complexity
  • Solicit, analyze, and validate subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Assist with detailed scope-of-work development
  • Work collaboratively with sales, design, production, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership
  • Ensure estimates achieve required gross-margin targets
  • Protect project profitability through accurate pricing, disciplined scope review, and risk management
  • Participate in client-facing discussions when technical construction or budget expertise is beneficial
  • Maintain and improve estimating templates, cost structures, pricing databases, and JobTread estimating systems
  • Review estimate-versus-actual results and completed-project cost data
  • Identify estimating discrepancies and use historical job-cost information to improve future accuracy What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is:
  • Highly experienced in residential construction estimating
  • Strong in ground-up construction, custom homes, additions, ADUs, and complex remodeling
  • Detail-oriented without losing sight of the overall project
  • Comfortable challenging incomplete scopes, unrealistic assumptions, or inadequate pricing
  • Analytical, organized, accountable, and decisive
  • A strong communicator with excellent construction judgment
  • Capable of working independently and taking ownership of results
  • Comfortable communicating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, designers, and construction professionals
  • Forward-thinking and interested in improving systems and processes
  • Highly computer literate and comfortable with modern construction technology
  • Open to using AI, automation, historical cost data, and technology to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency Required Experience Candidates should have substantial experience with several of the following:

  • Job costing Experience limited primarily to basic kitchen and bathroom estimating will generally not be sufficient. Technical Knowledge Strong candidates should understand residential construction systems including:
  • Sitework and demolition
  • Foundations and concrete
  • Framing and structural components
  • Roofing and exterior assemblies
  • Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Windows and doors
  • Cabinetry and millwork
  • Tile, flooring, countertops, and finishes
  • Finish carpentry
  • Construction sequencing
  • Labor productivity
  • Subcontractor scopes
  • Permitting and constructability
  • Project logistics and field conditions Technology Technology fluency is essential.
Experience with JobTread, construction estimating software, construction management platforms, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, digital takeoff tools, cloud-based systems, AI tools, automation, and historical cost databases is highly desirable. We are particularly interested in candidates who look for smarter, cleaner, faster, and more accurate ways to estimate. Compensation Base salary $80,000-$95,000, depending on experience. Beyond base pay, this role carries real upside potential for the right person as you demonstrate impact on estimating accuracy and project profitability, compensation is expected to grow accordingly. This is a newly created, high-visibility position with a clear runway for advancement as it , and you, prove out. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
