We are looking for a Senior Steel Estimator to join our team. The ideal estimator will have previous experience in estimating and a proven track record of meeting deadlines while balancing multiple bids. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Qualify all aspects of a bid, including material cost, detailing hours, fabrication and erection hours, equipment, etc. Coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Conduct site visits and job walks to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Work with project manager to monitor project budgets, change orders and costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to financial targets. Provide support in project management activities, including scheduling and resource allocation. Build a great working relationship with partners and general contractors. Work simultaneously on multiple bid proposals while meeting deadlines. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years structural and miscellaneous steel estimating experience Ability to interpret architectural and structural design drawings Capable of producing take-offs based on design drawings Ambitious and self-motivated Experience with Tekla estimating software is highly desirable
