Annual Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Truss Estimator to join its team. This role is responsible for accurately estimating roof and floor truss projects, reviewing construction plans, preparing quotes, and working closely with customers, sales, design, and operations. Key Responsibilities A growing structural building components manufacturer in Northern California is seeking an experienced Truss Estimator to join its team. This role is responsible for accurately estimating roof and floor truss projects, reviewing construction plans, preparing quotes, and working closely with customers, sales, design, and operations. Review architectural and structural plans for residential and commercial projects. Perform roof and floor truss takeoffs. Determine quantities, spans, sizes, profiles, and special conditions. Identify design, engineering, and constructability issues that may affect pricing. Prepare accurate and timely project estimates and quotations. Price lumber, hardware, engineering, delivery, and related project costs. Understand markup and gross margin and maintain pricing discipline. Coordinate with design teams regarding unusual or complex project conditions. Communicate with builders, contractors, framers, and internal teams. Clarify project scope, assumptions, exclusions, and customer requirements. Follow up on quotes and support sales efforts. Identify potential estimating issues before projects enter production. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Requirements Previous construction estimating experience. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans. Strong understanding of residential construction and framing. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong computer skills. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with contractors and construction professionals. Preferred Experience Roof or floor truss estimating experience. Experience with MiTek or similar truss software Lumber pricing and construction material cost experience. Framing or structural construction experience. Experience working directly with builders, contractors, or framers. Knowledge of engineered wood products and structural systems.
