In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical project bids, reviewing construction drawings, and ensuring all estimates comply with industry standards and electrical codes. Your expertise will help secure new projects and contribute to the successful execution of electrical installations across diverse construction sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your estimating skills, electrical knowledge, and project management abilities in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. Duties Review and interpret electrical construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints to develop precise estimates for electrical systems and components. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard tools to prepare detailed bid proposals. Conduct material cost estimating, including pricing electrical materials and equipment in accordance with project specifications. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable terms and competitive pricing. Ensure all bid submissions adhere to NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance standards, and local electrical building codes. Manage project budgets by estimating costs accurately, controlling expenses, and tracking changes throughout the bidding process. Review construction contracts, scope of work documents, and project schedules to align estimates with client expectations and project timelines. Perform construction site visits when necessary to gather on-site data for more precise bidding and cost management. Maintain organized records of all bid documents, correspondence, and revisions for future reference. Support project management teams post-bid by assisting in contract negotiations and providing detailed cost analysis. Experience Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and building codes. Familiarity with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and other relevant tools. Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of electrical installation practices and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately. Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent client communication abilities to foster positive relationships. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical design and installation practices. Background in construction management or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
