In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial HVAC projects, managing client relationships, and supporting project planning from initial inquiry through to project completion. Your expertise in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and cost management will be essential in delivering high-quality proposals that meet client needs and project specifications. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements. Develop detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems using estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing, material costs, and contract terms that align with project budgets. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by preparing comprehensive bids, proposals, and budgets that include labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Utilize spreadsheets and construction estimating software to track costs, update estimates, and ensure accuracy throughout the bidding process. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, review construction sites, and gather data necessary for precise estimation. Review contracts and ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring costs during execution and implementing cost control measures as needed. Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project scope, answer questions about estimates, and provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the HVAC or broader construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as CAD, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate or similar tools. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Solid understanding of construction management software and Microsoft Office suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis. Knowledge of material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating material requirements from blueprints. Experience with contract review and negotiation processes within commercial construction projects. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members while managing multiple priorities efficiently. If you have experience with CAD, that is a plus!
