Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented estimator with heavy civil marine experience to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting the successful execution of complex marine construction initiatives. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse marine infrastructure projects, leveraging your construction management and estimating skills. Duties Develop comprehensive cost estimates for marine construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Utilize estimating software to prepare precise bids and proposals. Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to negotiate pricing, contracts, and scope adjustments ensuring alignment with project goals. Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to maintain cost control and identify variances early. Assist in procurement activities by sourcing projects, suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating bids, and negotiating favorable terms. Oversee project management tasks e.g. Submittals, RFI, Schedules, Change Directives etc... and overall project planning. Ensure compliance with safety standards and construction regulations specific to marine environments during all project phases. Experience Proven experience in project management and estimating within the marine or heavy civil construction industry is required. Demonstrated proficiency with digital plan review and markup. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project delivery methods related to marine infrastructure projects. Hands-on construction site experience in marine environments enhances understanding of on-the-ground realities. Skilled in negotiation tactics to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Familiarity with cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and project management practices specific to large-scale construction projects.
