Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting the bidding process for commercial construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and aligned with client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while utilizing cutting-edge estimating tools and software. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and material requirements. Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar platforms. Utilize Bluebeam and other construction management software to review and annotate plans efficiently. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Manage project budgets by tracking costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed for accuracy. Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate cost projections. Assist in developing bid proposals, including detailed spreadsheets and cost breakdowns using Microsoft Office tools like Excel. Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-site data, review construction progress, or verify material quantities. Monitor market trends in material costs and labor rates to maintain competitive and realistic estimates. Support contract review processes by understanding project scope, terms, and conditions related to estimation. Requirements Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent construction estimating platforms. Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans thoroughly. Extensive knowledge of construction management software like Bluebeam, Xactimate, or similar tools. Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing outcomes. Ability to develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies in construction projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed estimation analysis. Construction site experience is highly desirable for better understanding of on-the-ground realities. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
