•Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our growing Estimating team. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for client projects by analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and proposals. You will contribute to budgeting and pre-construction planning by evaluating labor, material, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes. This position requires independent judgment, strong technical knowledge, and effective collaboration with internal teams and clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Analyze construction drawings and specifications Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate estimates Calculate labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Interpret and understand contractual terms and conditions Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals Conduct accurate quantity take-offs Gather and organize subcontractor and supplier quotations Draft preliminary project budgets and schedules Meet with prospective clients to support sales efforts Collaborate with project managers during pre-construction and active projects Develop estimates with attention to design, logistics, sequencing, and constructability Build and maintain subcontractor relationships for bidding and award processes Prepare estimate presentations, budget control reports, and documentation Stay informed on labor, material, and market conditions affecting project costs Perform variance analyses and monitor quantity controls Qualifications Education & Experience 5-10 Years Civil Construction Experience 3-5 years of experience in estimating (civil construction industry preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Strong mathematical and analytical skills In Eight Software experience Familiarity with electrical sub stations and transmission lines Familiarity with construction documents, drawings, and blueprints Proven ability to work independently and coordinate across teams Knowledge or familairity with at least one of the following: Ineight, Agtek, Bid2Win Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent math skills, including rates, percentages, ratios, and basic algebra Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Comfortable with iPads, smartphones, and Windows-based systems Experience with PlanGrid (preferred, not required) Physical Demands Able to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, crouch, and lift 50-90 lbs (up to 150 lbs with assistance) Willingness to work extended hours including weekends and holidays Comfortable working in various weather conditions Frequent travel to job sites Must maintain situational awareness in dynamic construction environments Walk on uneven terrain and perform duties both indoors and outdoors Work Environment Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere Tight deadlines and high expectations for accuracy Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking Company Culture Join a family-oriented organization that values employee growth, promotes from within , and supports long-term career development.
