Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will examine cellular samples to detect abnormalities, assist in early diagnosis, and support patient care initiatives. Your expertise will contribute directly to improving health outcomes and ensuring accurate, timely results for our clients. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze cytology specimens (Gyn and Non-Gyn, HPV and HPV genotyping) with precision, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results Identify cellular abnormalities, including precancerous and cancerous changes, using microscopy techniques Perform cell adequacies, touch preps, or smears Perform cytoprep duties for Gyn and Non-gyn specimens Document findings thoroughly in LIS and communicate results clearly to Pathologists Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance standards to include Cytology statistical data Perform and record scheduled equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment problems, and provide immediate notification to Laboratory Manager in the event of any malfunctions Ensuring accurate data entry of test results into the LIS Qualifications Proven experience as a Cytotechnologist with a focus on diagnostic accuracy Strong knowledge of medical terminology, data entry skills, and pathology reporting standards Experience with LIS systems for managing patient data effectively Certification as a Cytotechnologist from an accredited body (e.g., ASCP certification) is required Current State of Florida Cytotechnologist license at Supervisor level is required Familiarity with Cytologist slide reading requirements, CAP inspection cytology checklist, and Cytology required statistics Ability to handle manual tasks such as making touchpreps or smears Join us at MicroPath Laboratories where your expertise makes a real difference!
