Vertical Earth is seeking an experienced Estimator to support our expanding operations throughout Tennessee and the Southeast. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating heavy civil construction projects and a strong understanding of the Tennessee construction market (TDOT).

Georgia or Tennessee Position Summary The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including transportation, roadway, bridge and infrastructure work. This role will work closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, and vendors during the bidding process. Responsibilities Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed estimates from plans and specifications. Analyze bid documents, schedules, and contract requirements. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing. Develop cost estimates, bid proposals, and pricing strategies. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating process. Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases. Collaborate with project management and field operations teams. Assist with bid preparation and submission. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction. Prior or current experience bidding projects within the Tennessee market . Experience estimating transportation, roadway, bridge, utility, or site development projects. Familiarity with TDOT plans, specifications, and bidding procedures preferred. Strong understanding of construction methods, production rates, and cost analysis. Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
