Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the successful execution of commercial construction projects. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and costs. Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools. Develop comprehensive project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Manage project timelines, coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution. Utilize Bluebeam and other construction management software to review plans, collaborate on revisions, and track project progress. Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets; implement cost control measures as needed. Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately; review technical documents for potential issues or discrepancies. Lead client communication efforts by providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns promptly, and managing expectations effectively. Oversee site activities during construction phases, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work aligns with design specifications. Qualifications Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator with a strong understanding of estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent. Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices, including blueprint reading, cost management, material estimating, and contract administration. Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Xactimate , and other construction management tools. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and review construction plans critically. Strong negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of safety standards and site operations. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
