Job Cost Estimator (224587-14) #OFFICE_INDEED We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction estimating, strong knowledge of industry-standard estimating software, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to successful project planning and execution by providing precise budget forecasts and cost analyses. Hours Full-time, Monday-Friday 7:30/8:00am-4:30/5:00pm Location Honolulu, Oahu Pay $70,000 to $85,000 a year Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material and labor requirements. Perform cost analysis including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes to prepare comprehensive estimates. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and during project execution. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors through negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine scope of work and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Prepare detailed spreadsheets using Microsoft Office tools to organize estimates, track changes, and generate reports. Review contracts, manage change orders, and ensure estimates align with project specifications and client expectations. Assist in managing project timelines by providing accurate cost projections that support scheduling decisions. Support project management teams by providing estimation insights during project planning phases. Qualifications Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Proficiency with estimation software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools. Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices including cost control, material pricing, and contract management. Skilled in negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to optimize project costs. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis. Demonstrated experience in estimating material requirements from blueprints accurately. Familiarity with construction site operations and understanding of construction management principles.
