Manufacturing Estimator Location:

Eldridge, Iowa Job type: Full-time If you're the kind of person who can look at a customer drawing and immediately start thinking about how to make it, how long it will take, and what it should cost , we should probably talk. Uniparts Olsen manufactures precision steel parts for heavy equipment customers, and we're looking for a Manufacturing Estimator who understands what happens between a drawing and a finished part on the shop floor. You'll review customer RFQs, drawings, and specifications; determine how parts can be manufactured; and build accurate, practical cost estimates. That means considering materials, machining, labor, tooling, outside processing, inspection, and all the little details that can turn a good quote into a not-so-good one. You won't be estimating in a vacuum, either. You'll work with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and other teams across the plant to answer questions, solve problems, and develop manufacturing plans that make sense in the real world. What you'll do Review customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs for manufacturing feasibility. Develop detailed cost estimates and prepare customer quotations. Estimate setup times, cycle times, and manufacturing routings. Recommend manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures. Work across Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and with customers to resolve technical questions. Maintain quote documentation, estimating standards, and historical cost data. Support design for manufacturability and continuous improvement efforts. What you'll bring Experience with manufacturing cost analysis and CNC machining processes. The ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP or MRP system. Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate with people across different functions. Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, or CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360, is a plus.

Pay:
