Job Description

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an Estimator/Technical Sales professional to manage the quoting process for custom, engineered-to-order fabrication and tooling projects — from initial customer inquiry through hand-off to production. This role sits at the intersection of technical sales, inside sales, and estimating, translating blueprints and customer requirements into accurate, competitive quotes.

Key Responsibilities:
All products are engineered to order; manage approximately four to six active projects/quotes at a timeReview blueprints and specifications to gather the information needed to prepare quotesSpeak with customers by phone to clarify requirements and obtain missing informationCalculate and prepare accurate project quotes, estimates, and proposals, including material and labor cost evaluations from scratchReview customer requirements and develop detailed project scopes to ensure proposed solutions align with manufacturing capabilitiesServe as the primary point of contact between customers and internal departments to confirm requirements and provide project updatesGenerate and coordinate tooling work orders and project documentation for internal manufacturing teamsWork closely with engineering, purchasing, production, and quality teams to move projects efficiently through the quoting-to-manufacturing processTrack quote status and project timelines to ensure jobs move forward on scheduleTransfer completed quote and project information to the production teamReview completed projects and gather feedback to support continuous improvement and future quoting accuracyEnsure all documentation, drawings, and specifications are maintained accurately throughout the quoting and project lifecycle
Qualifications:
Background in Technical Sales, Inside Sales, Sales Engineering, or EstimatingMust be able to read and interpret detailed blueprints, not just pictogramsComfortable working in Microsoft ExcelExperience in a manufacturing, tooling, machining, or fabrication environment preferredEpicor ERP experience helpful but not required — the company is currently implementing the systemExperience with CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus, but not requiredStrong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
