Our client is a highly respected, privately owned commercial roofing contractor serving the Chicagoland market. They have built their reputation by tackling complex commercial projects that many contractors simply won't pursue. This is not a volume-driven estimating environment where you're expected to churn through bids. Their projects require thoughtful analysis, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of commercial roofing systems. The Projects You'll be involved with a wide range of technically challenging work, including: Universities and educational facilities Government and municipal projects Manufacturing and industrial facilities Research and laboratory environments Food processing facilities Commercial and institutional buildings These projects often involve detailed specifications, unique conditions, and demanding clients who expect precision. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for commercial roofing projects Review plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform takeoffs and pricing analysis Coordinate with operations and project management teams Participate in project handoff and preconstruction activities Help identify project risks and opportunities before construction begins Qualifications Commercial roofing estimating experience Knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, and related roofing systems Ability to read and interpret construction documents Strong organizational and communication skills Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously The EDGE experience is a plus but not required Compensation & Benefits $100,000
