Job Description

Electrical Estimator We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing construction and electrical services organization supporting industrial and commercial projects. This role is ideal for an estimator with a strong electrical background who understands both the field and office sides of construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates, reviewing construction documents, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and managing multiple bid opportunities simultaneously. Individuals with hands-on electrical field experience are highly preferred, as practical industry knowledge is key to success in this role. Electrical Estimator Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial and commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, schematics, and other project documents to develop accurate bid proposals.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the bidding process.
  • Manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
  • Support project handoff activities and collaborate with operations teams following project award.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, labor trends, material pricing, and industry best practices. Electrical Estimator Job Qualifications
  • 4+ years of electrical estimating experience, with a strong preference for candidates with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background in industrial and/or commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical plans, specifications, and schematics.
  • Strong communication skills with experience leading discussions involving vendors, subcontractors, project teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working in electrical construction environments, including field and/or office-based roles.
  • Demonstrated career stability and commitment within previous organizations.
  • Proficiency with electrical estimating software, including McCormick and similar industry tools.
  • Experience using construction technology platforms such as Bluebeam and related software.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) , construction sequencing, and industry standards.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent field experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with design-build and design-assist project delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience overseeing technical teams.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to assess project risk and profitability.
  • Familiarity with local subcontractor, supplier, and labor markets.
