Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) works as a member of Health Ministries Clinic team in an integrated primary-care/behavioral health setting. The PSR assists providers to care for patients by scheduling appointments and taking phone calls for the clinic. PSRs do participate in staff meetings, and staff training as required for the job role. The PSRs work closely with patients to ensure the accuracy of their dental appointments, personal information, and billing information.Duties/Responsibilities:
Accurately enters a variety of information into the Electronic Health Record. Accurately checks patients in for appointments and scans a variety of documents into system. Demonstrate courtesy, patience, and helpfulness toward patients and their families Manage appointments and stay informed of appointment status Answer phones promptly, courteously, and efficiently Assist patients with registration forms Enter patient information accurately in the electronic health record Verify insurance eligibility Verify eligibility for sliding fee discount schedule Collect and accurately record payments and co-payments for all services Assist providers as needed Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information, including HIPAA Follow HMC policies and proceduresAdditional Details:

Minimum education: High school diploma/GED required 6 months experience as a medical receptionist or medical records clerk preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is required Experience with customer service and multi-line phones is preferred Computer knowledge, and ability to work independently with little direction requires Medical terminology/procedural knowledge strongly preferred but not required Bi-Lingual ability in Spanish is required for this roleWhy HMC:
