We design, fabricate, install and service a variety of interior/exterior commercial signs throughout New England. Position Summary An estimator calculates the time, resources, and total cost required to complete a project. They analyze blueprints and specifications, determine material and labor needs, collect supplier quotes, and predict potential risks to establish a competitive project cost before work begins. This role requires a sign industry (or general construction) based understanding to develop accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates. Key Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers. Develop project budgets, cost breakdowns, and value engineering alternatives. Identify project risks and recommend appropriate pricing strategies. Collaborate with the sales department and project managers. Maintain current knowledge of material costs, labor rates, manufacturing techniques, and market trends. Assist with quality checks to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Required Qualifications Sign industry or commercial construction estimating experience. Strong understanding of construction methods and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Must possess good phone and email communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (required). Physical Requirements Ability to visit active construction sites on occasion. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
