Bringing certainty to cost, schedule and functionality requires a firm with significant project planning, estimating, procurement and construction execution experience and capabilities. A firm that places strong emphasis on preconstruction planning, conceptual estimating, and early project collaboration. The Senior Estimator will work directly with our CEO and Vice President of Preconstruction, who together fulfill most of the company's estimating needs.

Job Summary:

A key strength of this role is the ability to perform and lead conceptual cost estimating during early project phases, even when drawings and specifications are limited. The Senior Estimator will help guide feasibility analysis, design development, budget strategy, and overall client decision-making. The Senior Estimator will have considerable visibility to executive management and will regularly engage with architects, engineers and clients. The Senior Estimator will have estimating responsibilities from concept through the development of the GMP estimate. This role will directly influence project pursuit strategy, client budgeting decisions, and the successful delivery of technically complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Preconstruction:

Prepare accurate conceptual cost estimates based on minimal design information, benchmarking data, and historical cost knowledge. Analyze architectural and engineering plans to develop accurate, detailed and competitive cost estimates. Collaborate with clients and design teams to align early design decisions with budget constraints. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotes to ensure completeness and competitiveness. From time to time, procure pricing, tabulate and make recommendations on long lead purchases and/or design/build partnerships to expedite a project. Perform conceptual quantity take-offs, develop unit cost analyses, and create detailed project budgets. Participate in pre-construction meetings to provide input on design feasibility, constructability reviews, and cost-saving alternatives during early design. Update and maintain historical cost data for future projects. o

Communication & Reporting:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and financial performance. Foster long-term client relationships through proactive communication and accountability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (M/E/P preferred). 7-9+ combined years of construction experience in estimating, project management and field-based responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to create conceptual cost estimates for a variety of project types and scales. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Proficiency in project management and estimating software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, Excel). Excellent organizational and communication skills. Able to manage multiple estimating assignments and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in conceptual estimating during schematic and design development phases. Experience working with design-build delivery method.

Pay:

$150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
