(CBI) Rockland, MA | Full-Time | In-Person Join Our Team Join an established New England commercial general contractor where your estimating experience, industry relationships, and construction knowledge will have a direct impact on our continued growth. Commonwealth Building, Inc. (CBI) is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team in Rockland, Massachusetts. CBI is a Commercial General Contractor and Construction Manager serving clients throughout New England. Our projects include ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and occupied renovations across the Retail, Restaurant, Corporate, and Commercial market sectors. We're looking for an experienced estimator who can take ownership of the estimating and preconstruction process—from initial project review and conceptual budgeting through final bid and project turnover. What You'll Do Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope, risks, constructability concerns, logistics, and schedule requirements. Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and competitive hard-bid proposals. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive scopes of work. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals. Identify scope gaps and ensure complete trade coverage. Develop bid strategies and work closely with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bidding process. Prepare client proposals, including alternates, allowances, qualifications, and exclusions. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and clients. Maintain historical cost data and estimating information. Lead pre-bid efforts and participate in project turnover meetings with Project Managers and Superintendents. Present estimates, budgets, and proposals to company leadership and clients as needed. What We're Looking For Commercial construction estimating experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager. Strong understanding of construction documents, scopes of work, subcontractor pricing, and project costs. Experience with conceptual estimating, hard bids, takeoffs, and subcontractor buyout. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work. Why Commonwealth Building?
