Overview We are seeking two highly motivated Estimators—one specializing in HVAC systems and the other in Plumbing—to join our dynamic construction team. These roles are pivotal in accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting our project management team from initial bidding through project execution. Duties Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for HVAC or Plumbing systems by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate pricing models and streamline the estimation process. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather competitive bids and negotiate pricing to optimize project budgets. Conduct quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment costs. Assist in the development of bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of scope, schedule, and cost are clearly articulated. Support cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and managing contract negotiations. Contribute to project management activities by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation strategies. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on HVAC or Plumbing systems; familiarity with heavy civil or general construction projects is a plus. Strong proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam for document markup is highly desirable. Solid understanding of construction management principles, contracts, and project delivery methods. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs from complex drawings and specifications. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Knowledge of cost control techniques and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Construction site experience is preferred to better understand field conditions impacting estimates.
