Job Description

Residential Construction Estimator

Residential Construction Estimator A well-established and growing residential construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who enjoys working on quality residential projects and wants to grow their career with a respected builder. The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate project estimates, reviewing plans and specifications, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and helping ensure projects are competitively priced and profitable. Estimator Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for residential construction projects
  • Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and project scopes
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and subcontracted work
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Develop detailed project budgets and cost estimates
  • Analyze project plans to identify potential cost savings and areas of concern
  • Maintain pricing databases and current market cost information
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings and project handoffs
  • Assist with bid preparation, proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Track changes in scope and provide updated estimates as needed
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company objectives
  • Maintain organized documentation throughout the estimating process Estimator Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in residential construction estimating
  • Experience with custom, luxury, production, or high-end residential construction preferred
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and construction documents
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, subcontractor pricing, and material pricing
  • Experience with quantity takeoffs and estimating software
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred but not required Compensation & Benefits
