About the
Role:
We are adding an Architectural Estimator to develop accurate and competitive project estimates in within the architectural discipline. This position directly supports Chief Estimators in developing cost competitive bids on public works water and wastewater self-perform construction projects. This role works closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to build detailed scopes, analyze costs, and help position projects for success.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating Strong understanding of estimating processes, takeoffs, and cost analysis Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with water or wastewater construction projects Experience working with a self-perform contractor Familiarity with subcontractor and vendor coordination Experience with cost tracking and historical data analysis
Responsibilities:
Attend pre-bid meetings and review project requirements Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotes Ensure at least three quotes per scope when possible Analyze pricing and identify discrepancies or risks Coordinate with estimating leadership to finalize bids Track and maintain bid documentation and records Support DBE participation and documentation requirements Utilize cost data, labor reports, and historical information in estimates Participate in turnover meetings and communicate project risks and opportunities
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines Clear communication with internal teams and vendors Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet bid deadlines
