Job Description
Job Description Roers Companies seeks a Construction Estimator to support multifamily and mixed-use real estate projects from pre-construction through delivery. In this role, you will perform detailed quantity takeoffs, prepare conceptual and hard-bid estimates, solicit and analyze subcontractor bids, and develop budgets that guide investment and development decisions. You'll collaborate closely with development, design, and construction teams to provide cost projections, value engineering options, and schedule input. Responsibilities Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid construction estimates for multifamily and mixed-use projects Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids Develop and maintain project budgets and cost models for development decisions Support value engineering and identify cost-saving alternatives without sacrificing quality Collaborate with development, design, and construction teams to align scope, cost, and schedule Update estimates based on design changes and market pricing trends Assist with proposals, bid packages, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects Ensure estimates comply with building codes, company standards, and safety requirements Required Skills Construction cost estimating Reading blueprints and specifications Quantity takeoffs Estimating software (e.g., Sage, Bluebeam) Bid preparation Budget development and cost modeling Value engineering Vendor and subcontractor negotiation Excel and financial analysis Knowledge of building codes and construction methods
