Machining Estimator Oak Grove, MN / Ramsey, MN Area | Contract-to-Hire role We're partnering with a growing custom manufacturing company seeking a Machining Estimator who enjoys working closely with engineering, production, and customers to develop accurate project cost estimates. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly estimating experience who wants to join a team-oriented environment and play a key role in winning new business. What You'll Be Doing Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Develop cost estimates for machined parts, weldments, assemblies, and fabricated components Analyze material, labor, machining, and outside processing costs Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes Identify cost drivers and potential project risks Prepare detailed quotes and estimates for customers Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management throughout the quoting process Help resolve manufacturing, cost, and production challenges Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers What We're Looking For Estimating experience within machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly manufacturing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Understanding of machining processes, weldments, and metal fabrication Knowledge of GD&T and welding symbols Familiarity with AWS and ASME standards Experience with ERP systems or manufacturing software Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Background Experience estimating machined components, sheet metal, and welded assemblies Exposure to vacuum equipment or vacuum system assemblies Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, or food & beverage equipment industries Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field Why Consider This Opportunity?
